Aleph (2019) - Sound programming.

re-right (2018) - Original score.

re - repeat - repeat different - write & meet - again right.

Explore ways to talk. Explore conversations that have no margin for error because it is assumed that the conversations have no destination.

At the same time, the proposal is that the conversation does not get stuck in the semantic logic but that through the video the encounter can be expanded to more senses.

repete

Explore conversations that have no margin for error because you assume that the conversations have no destination.

At the same time that individual expression gives us the plurality of conversations, deconstruction will continue until the synergistic moment occurs where the created relationship extrapolates the created importance, the reality and that which we control with isolated senses.

SYNERGY OF SYNESIS

SYNERGY can be defined as the phenomenon that occurs when two or more forces come together to create a force majeure in which that force majeure is also greater than the addition of the parts.

5100-098 (2017) - Composition and sound design.

Sound Installation for  the cloisters of the Sé cathedral of Lamego - "ZONA - o som do espaço" TRC ZigurFest 2017

This piece begins with a walk through the arches and columns of the cloisters. The focus is the main fountain, to observe and and to listen, and slowly flow into the chapels as the final destination.

Three sections are presented to bring features to the structure. They are linked together by one common rhythmic element - the arpeggio.

Strong repetitive melodies, forceful timbres and oversaturated delays move through a space inhabited by granular synthesis.

Created by: João M. Santos.

Words and narration: Dr. Jorge Costa.

Duration 29:20 played in loop.

PIU (2012) - Sound design and music programming.

Multimedia Art Installation

PIU is a project that aims to transform urban spaces and turn them into dialog locations by inviting people to show/hide what they have to say. The project takes two different shapes: an analog version and a digital one.

Analog PIU – We take the streets carrying (physical) speech balloons, in which we ask the passers-by to write anything they wish. We document these moments through photography and make the images available in our site and facebook page.

Digital PIU – It takes the shape of a bench, where 3 or more people can sit. This bench incorporates 3 different LCD screens showing speech balloons. Thereʼs a comical illusion that those who are sitting on the bench are communicating through these digital speech balloons. The balloons show messages remotely (they can be anonymous) sent through Twitter – using the hashtag #piuurbano – or through our site piurbano.com. Anyone, anywhere is free to send messages!

One is Plural (2011) - Musical programming and sound design.

Multimedia Art Installation

“emotion plurality into singular plurality”

One is plural is an interactive installation that reflects the diversity of the human emotions, interpreting facial expressions induced by a random projection of images. We intend to demonstrate that, when confronted with the same stimulus, we all have different reactions that will be translated into visual and sound creations. The artistic object is created. A unique musical and visual composition.
